HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BROTHER PETER
Human beings originate from one stock that is divine
Yet with different temperaments and dispositions
My brother, Peter IgbiniJesu, for almost sixty years
You have worked quietly to achieve great heights
In structural engineering, you are simply the best
Your love for privacy never affects your relationships
You invited me to break into your quiet and silence
This you endured for so long even when I was loud
You trapped me into the web of your love and care
I found it difficult to say goodbye even when I could
You inconvenienced yourself just to make me happy
Your patience gave me a home when I needed a roof.
A true African father is not forgotten at any given time
You have handed on to your children the beatitudes
That go with a banner of enduring character and fame
You never fought for royalty, fame, wealth and prestige
All these, you have gotten in the silence of your life.
Fly with your children and Dolly your gentle Baby Dove
I pray to God of all creation this noble and humble request
Assist Peter Igbinijesu to build a world that merits heaven
A home where no one is oppressed with poverty and blame
Brother, may your world aglow with the love and joy of heaven
May you attain and achieve what your heart as always longed for
May God bless you and your family with peace and all that is good
Dear brother, Peter Igbinijesu,
May you see your children’s children,
May your bread never get exhausted,
May your oil of anointing ever remain fresh
May you and Dolly have no cause to cry,
Happy birth day! Happy many returns!
Fr. Cornelius A. Omonokhua, on the 60th Birthday of Engr. Sir. Peter Igbinijesu.
